India’s evolving role in global aviation - setting course course to be an aviation powerhouse

31 January, 2019

In the space of just one generation India's aviation industry will have grown from being a minor player to one of the largest and most vibrant markets in the world, creating new global opportunities and responsibilities for India.

The forthcoming CAPA India Aviation Summit and CAPA India Airport Summit will provide some key insights and new research into one of the world's fastest growing air transport markets. Across three days, the two summits will deliver a masterclass in Indian aviation, including 20+ exclusive analysis and data presentations on critical industry issues delivered by CAPA Advisory & Research.

CAPA estimates that up to USD45 billion of investment will be required for airport expansion and construction in India by 2030, to keep pace with the projected growth in airport traffic. Its summit presentations will include the outlook for Indian airports and cover CAPA's project tracker for Indian airport expansion and construction, operational and financial benchmarking of Indian airports, the outlook for the Indian ground handling sector, opportunities to develop self-connecting traffic in India and key trends in Indian passenger and cargo sectors.

The agenda has been designed to enable delegates to develop a clear understanding of market growth, competition, policy and regulation, supply-side constraints, investment conditions, prospects for consolidation, and the nature of industry risks. It will also include an address from Hon Jayant Sinha, India's Minister of State for Civil Aviation on the key initiatives being implemented by the Government of India to create a successful and sustainable aviation sector which facilitates business, trade and tourism and drives economic development.

As the foremost authority on aviation in the world, CAPA - Centre for Aviation's events provide cutting edge knowledge about strategic market trends and dynamics to help attendees make informed decisions, delivering the information and connections needed to inspire and improve business. The CAPA India Aviation Summit and CAPA India Airport Summit will take place in New Delhi, India between 12-14 February 2019.

It's hardly a secret that the airline industry is facing myriad challenges, notably in the marketing and distribution areas, as companies with personalised data, and the analytics and artificial intelligence to go with it, become greater threats to the stability of the traditional airline model. This event, hosted at the Roseate House New Delhi, is a forum for debate and discussion of strategic issues facing the aviation industry and it is attracting delegate interest from across the globe.
