Jet2.com CEO calls for 'openness and transparency' on UK travel restriction decisions

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said the UK Government "has repeatedly stated" its travel restrictions are based on coronavirus infections and vaccinations, adding: "Yet many destinations continue to be left off the Green List despite having low infection rates and high vaccination rates" (Yorkshire Evening Post, 04-Jun-2021). Mr Heapy said: "We simply cannot understand why more destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands are not allowed to open", and called on the UK Government to provide "complete openness and transparency when it comes to the data, so that customers and the industry can really understand what is driving these decisions".
