KLM Royal Dutch Airlines president and CEO Pieter Elbers said the situation was "already difficult" for KLM and Air France-KLM prior to the Europe-US travel ban (De Telegraaf, 13-Mar-2020). He added that now a "significant part of our route network" is impacted and that the group is now in a "serious crisis". Mr Elbers also said the coronavirus' impact on group operating revenue has "grown considerably" since its previous guidance of a EUR200 million impact.
