KLM reports 2019 total emissions down 4% against 2005 baseline

2 June, 2021

KLM reported (02-Jun-2021) its total CO2 emissions for 2019, as measured against a 2005 baseline, were lowered by an absolute amount of 4%. Emissions were 31% lower on a per passenger, per kilometre as of 2019. The carrier noted that given the disruption in operations in 2020, this year's CO2 emission figures cannot be compared easily with other years and targets. KLM plans to lower its total emissions by 15% by 2030, and cut its unit emissions by 50% - in line with the wider environmental goals of the Air France-KLM Group. [more - original PR]
