Korean Air president says Asiana acquisition ‘on course’

Korean Air president Woo Kee-hong said the carrier’s transaction to acquire Asiana Airlines continues on course and he is confident “there won’t be major monopoly concerns” when it files for the approval of the business combination in and outside of Korea by mid Jan-2021 (Korea JoongAng Daily, 07-Jan-2021). The combined market share of Korean Air and Asiana in terms of passenger slots at Seoul Incheon International Airport is 38.5%, or 40% including cargo aircraft, according to Mr Woo.
