LATAM Airlines plans to launch LCC in Chile

LAN Express' cabin crew union (Sindicato de Tripulantes de Cabina de Lan Express - STCLE), via its official Twitter account, announced (14-Apr-2018) "LATAM Airlines Group informed Chile DGAC its intention to establish a new carrier directly focused on competing in the LCC market". The union considers the strategy a threat as "the company could sell aircraft from one company to the other, causing a reduction in the number of cabin crew".
