CAPA: Little sign of coordination so far in Mexico City's three airport model

26 January, 2021

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled 'Mexico City's airports come under centralised control', stated (21-Jan-2021) Mexico City Toluca Airport and Mexico City Santa Lucia Airbase will be administered by Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México, the operator of Mexico City Juarez International Airport, but there does not seem to be a coherent scheme for how the airports will interface with each other. The three airports will collectively operate as an alternative to the cancelled New Mexico City International Airport and the true cost of works across the three airports could exceed the projected cost of the new facility.
