Lufthansa Group adds accelerated check in for passengers with digital vaccination certificates

Lufthansa Group announced (17-Jun-2021) passengers with a digital vaccination certificate are able to check in faster with Lufthansa. Travellers will present the digital vaccination certificate, which proves full vaccination protection, either via app or on a printout at check-in at the airport. After confirmation, a boarding pass is issued directly, eliminating the need to take various papers and proofs of vaccinations to airports. The system compares the data from the QR code with the booking and passenger data, making forgery and misuse more difficult. On selected routes, it will soon be possible to scan QR vaccination certificates with the Lufthansa app or to load them digitally into the app. The app recognises the QR code and uses this information to create the boarding pass.
