Lufthansa Group negotiating to switch orders to smaller long range aircraft

Lufthansa Group CEO Carsten Spohr said the company is in negotiations with Airbus and Boeing over its existing aircraft orders, including swapping certain orders for larger aircraft to smaller long range aircraft (Bloomberg, 16-Feb-2021). Mr Spohr said that talks are “very dynamic”, adding that the phase out of a large portion of its four engine fleet “creates a certain need for smaller long range aircraft”.
