More than 663,000 of Australian half priced domestic fares sold

Australia‘s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack, and Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan stated (29-Apr-2021) more than 663,000 half price airfares have been sold as part of the Australian Government’s AUD1.2 billion (USD933.3 million) tourism support package. More than 82% of the tickets sold in one month, with demand remaining “strong”. Mr McCormack and Mr Tehan said: “We continue to encourage Australians to take advantage of this opportunity to book a cheap holiday, because for every dollar spent on a flight 10 more will be spent on the ground”, adding “we will continue to make the necessary investments to support jobs across Australia”.
