Newcastle Williamtown Airport begins terminal upgrade to facilitate international services

    Newcastle Williamtown Airport announced (01-May-2017) construction has begun on the upgrade of its terminal, which will allow direct international flights for the first time. The AUD850,000 (USD640,396) project is set to accommodate international passengers with the addition of security, passport and border force equipment. NSW Infrastructure Minister Andrew Constance stated Newcastle Airport is recognised as one of the fastest growing airports in NSW and making it ready for international flights is the next step. Construction of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
