AAPA: Continued economic and trade growth supporting Asia Pacific carriers

29 November, 2018

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) director general Andrew Herdman reported (28-Nov-2018) Oct-2018 Asia Pacific traffic results showed international air passenger markets continued to expand at an encouraging pace, whilst international air cargo volumes also remained firm, notwithstanding tensions around global trade policies. Mr Herdman said the expansion of the global economy has continued into 4Q2018, with further strengthening of global services activity but somewhat slower expansion in the global manufacturing sectors. This, together with improvements in connectivity, supported the continued growth in air traffic demand for Asian carriers. International air cargo demand has been supported by increasing orders going into the year-end peak season. [more - original PR]
