Aegean Air reports July/August traffic up 70%, with international traffic more than doubling

Aegean Airlines reported (09-Sep-2021) it handled 2.3 million passengers across Jul-2021 and Aug-2021, an increase of more than 70% compared to the same period in 2020. International traffic was 1.2 million passengers, +108%, and domestic traffic was just under 1.1 million, up 39%. Average load factor was 71.7%, up 2.2pp. The carrier attributed the increase in international passengers to the removal of travel restrictions, the widespread use of the Digital Green Certificate in the EU and the dynamic tourism restart.
