Air New Zealand suspends more than 1000 trans Tasman flights

Air New Zealand, via its official Twitter account, announced (22-Nov-2021) due to "Continued border uncertainty between NZ and Australia", the carrier suspended more than 1000 frequencies up to 31-Dec-2021, following "other cancellations made since QFT [quarantine free travel] was first paused". Approximately 20,000 travellers will be impacted by the suspension. Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty stated: "Our hands are tied until border restrictions ease, and we receive further clarity from the New Zealand Government".
