Air New Zealand CEO Christopher Luxon praised the Auckland International Airport master plan, that includes one terminal for international and domestic passengers by 2022 and potentially a second runway by 2028, saying the airline and airport goals needed to be aligned (Stuff, 28-Sep-2017). "We have out teams working on that. It's just that I would have liked it all yesterday", he said, adding: "We would just love more capacity at Auckland international in particular and that's a conversation with the airport company because fundamentally I think we're probably going to need two or three lounges at Auckland [international] airport because it is our hub and as we grow and bring Australians through New Zealand to South and North America, we're going to need much more capacity. So that's a constant conversation".
