Air Vanuatu orders four 133 seat Airbus aircraft

Air Vanuatu CEO Derek Nice and Vanuatu's Minister for Finance and Economic Management Gaetan Pikeoune signed a purchase agreement for four new 133 seat Airbus aircraft on 15-Feb-2019, reportedly valued at VUV3 billion (USD263.6 million) (Vanuatu Daily Post, 16-Feb-2019). A VUV850 million (USD7.5 million) deposit was placed on the purchase. Mr Nice said all four aircraft will be based in and operate out of Vanuatu to markets including Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2020.
