AirAsia launches #FairAirportTax campaign in response to Malaysia Airports dispute

AirAsia, via its official Twitter and Facebook accounts, launched (29-Jul-2019) a social media campaign, #FairAirportTax, in response to its ongoing legal dispute with Malaysia Airports over passenger service charges and late payment fees. The carrier is requesting passengers provide comments and opinions using the hashtag and also provided a direct link for complaints to be sent to the Malaysian Aviation Commission. AirAsia's website states: "We believe that increased airport taxes stifle tourism, hamper economic growth and put other destinations at a considerable advantage over Malaysia".
