AirAsia: MAHB should consider 'more prudent uses' of additional airport tax

1 August, 2019

AirAsia CEO Riad Asmat stated (01-Aug-2019) "Major infrastructure and capex intensive plans" to integrate Kuala Lumpur International Airport's main terminal and terminal 2 "need to be put on hold", adding Malaysia Airports (MAHB) should focus on "fixing the uneven aprons and taxiways, installing more guest friendly spaces and redesigning boarding gates". Mr Asmat said: "More prudent uses of the additional airport tax could for example include dealing with overcrowding at airports around Malaysia such as Penang International Airport, where the check in area is simply too small to handle the growing volume of people using it". [more - original PR[more - original PR - Chinese[more - original PR - Malay]
