airBaltic CEO: Aviation industry development behind other industries

airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss stated (Oct-2020) the aviation industry has not developed as fast as other industries. Mr Gauss said: "There are regulatory issues, of course, but I think we need to get better especially if we look at the future and the sustainability of developing aircraft". Mr Gauss expects future aircraft to be electric, considering biofuel an intermediate solution. He added: "We have very old-fashioned ways of doing things. For example, we use the Amadeus system, which has its roots in the 1970s. We have airports that operate like dinosaurs as well". [more - original PR]
