American Airlines and Aer Lingus announce codeshare agreement

American Airlines and Aer Lingus announced (11-Jan-2022) a codeshare agreement, providing network connections between the US and Europe. American Airlines will codeshare on Aer Lingus' London Heathrow-Dublin service, with American Airlines customers to also be afforded access from Dublin to Amsterdam, Birmingham, London Gatwick and Manchester, as well as services from London Heathrow to Belfast, Cork and Shannon. Aer Lingus passengers will be able to connect to the following destinations from Chicago O'Hare as part of the agreement:

  • Albuquerque;
  • Dallas;
  • Nashville;
  • Los Angeles;
  • San Francisco;
  • San Jose;
  • Seattle;
  • Tucson.

The carriers stated "further expansion" of the agreement "is also planned in the near future". Aer Lingus chief strategy and planning officer Reid Moody stated: "We are delighted that through the codeshare agreement with American Airlines, Aer Lingus customers will be able to avail of greater connectivity options and more seamless travel between the US and Europe via our Dublin hub, which also has the added benefit of US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance located in Dublin".
