Australian Government commits another USD33m for repatriation services

Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack announced (08-May-2020) the government committed an additional AUD50 million (USD32.7 million) to continue repatriation services from London and Los Angeles to help Australians return over the next four weeks. The government has been working closely with Qantas and Virgin Australia to ensure continuing connectivity to London and Los Angeles. London frequency will increase from weekly to twice weekly and Los Angeles frequency will continue at twice weekly. The services also provide ongoing freight capacity. Scheduled repatriation services from Hong Kong and Auckland will cease as the government is satisfied that the immediate demand has been met. [more - original PR]
