AVA Airways delays start up 'until everyone kind of gets over the fear factor'

26 June, 2020

AVA Airways CEO Olivier Arrindell, via The Flying Sri Lankan's official YouTube channel, commented (20-Jun-2020) on the start up's planned timeline, stating the project is on hold "until everyone kind of gets over the fear factor". The start up had plans to commence operations in Dec-2020 but has been "pushed back" until summer/autumn 2021. He stated he's waiting to see how new sanitary safety measures are going to be developed and implemented to then "build a business model around that". He added if a 60% load factor restriction is implemented the carrier will still go-ahead with launch, stating: "60% load factor for us is good, for some airlines it's not, but for AVA airways it's good".
