BDL calls for improved pax transfer and baggage processes to shift domestic air traffic to rail

German Aviation Association (BDL) called (16-Aug-2019) on the German rail industry to improve passenger rail connections and baggage safety processes to allow the shift of more domestic air traffic to rail (aero.de/airliners.de, 16-Aug-2019). BDL MD Matthias von Randow said the industry has a "great interest in ensuring that the shift succeeds", however rail has to improve transfer processes feeding German airport hubs and baggage check in options and baggage security checks from rail stations.
