Chile to reduce passenger boarding taxes by 10% in Jul-2019, second reduction in one year

Chile's Finance Minister Jose Valente announced that boarding taxes in Chile will reduce effective Jul-2019, by 10% for domestic operations and by 3.8% for international operations, reducing from USD26 to USD25 (HostelTur, 02-Apr-2019). It will be the second reduction in the tax in less than one year. The Chilean Government reduced domestic and international boarding taxes in Oct-2018. Chile's national statistics institute registered a 20% reduction in air fare from Oct-2018 to Feb-2019 and a 19% year-on-year increase in domestic passengers in the Nov-2018 to Jan-2019 period.
