City of Dallas proposed a plan to resolve leasing issues between Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines at Dallas Love Field, motioning Delta could remain at the airport for at least another three years (Dallas News, 07-May-2018). Delta will not have any assurances of staying beyond the three year period, the city said. The airlines are reviewing the proposal, although Delta commented it so far believes the "proposed accommodation plan reduces, rather than promotes, competition at Love Field". As previously reported by CAPA, Southwest is seeking full time use of gate 15 at Love Field, claiming Delta is interfering with its operations by using the gate. Delta contends Southwest, which has sole use of 18 of Love Field's 20 gates, is unfairly monopolising the airport.
