Gold Coast Airport to receive new southern entryway

18 August, 2020

Queensland's Government committed (18-Aug-2020) AUD6.5 million (USD4.7 million) to build a new southern entryway to Gold Coast Airport jointly with the airport and the New South Wales (NSW) government. The project will create a new entrance to the airport precinct on the Queensland and NSW border, taking pressure off the Gold Coast Highway-Terminal Drive intersection. The Queensland Government will immediately commit AUD375,000 (USD272,050) for planning and design for the access road and intersection as a 50/50 jointly funded project with the NSW Government, and was in discussion about splitting the cost of the upgrade. The new entryway project is estimated at AUD12 million (USD8.7 million), with plans to be worked through over 12 months. [more - original PR]
