Ireland seeking to boost Hong Kong-Dublin frequency

28 January, 2019

Ireland's Minister of State at the Department of Finance Michael D'Arcy said Ireland is keen to expand the number of frequencies between Hong Kong and Dublin in summer 2019, with the aim to attract more Chinese tourists (South China Morning Post, 27-Jan-2019). He said he is negotiating to expand Cathay Pacific's four times weekly Hong Kong-Dublin frequency to five or six times weekly. 130,000 Chinese tourists visited Ireland in 2018, an increase of 43% year-on-year.
