JetSMART reached 10.7% domestic market share in Chile, according to Chile JAC, in the six months since its launch on 25-Jul-2018 (Aero Latin News, 01-Mar-2018). The carrier handled over 605,000 passengers during the period. JetSMART CEO Estuardo Ortiz claimed the 21.8% year-on-year increase in Chile's passenger traffic in Jan-2018, is "because with the arrival of JetSMART, we gave plenty of people who had not flown before the opportunity to do so".
