Jetstar Airways to resume Gold Coast-Hobart service

6 October, 2020

Jetstar Airways announced (07-Oct-2020) plans to resume three times weekly Gold Coast-Hobart service from 01-Dec-2020, following the Tasmania Government plans to open the majority of state borders from 26-Oct-2020. The service will provide 1200 weekly seats between the two cities, and "will also help to boost tourism in the Gold Coast and Hobart, creating jobs and supporting the local economy, and means more of our people are back at work". Jetstar plans to increase frequencies on its existing Tasmanian routes, including five times weekly Hobart-Adelaide service, seven times weekly Hobart-Brisbane service and six times weekly Launceston-Brisbane service. Once restrictions are lifted on travel to New South Wales, Jetstar plan to operate up to 21 times weekly between Hobart and Sydney from Nov-2020 and Qantas will reintroduce daily service between Sydney and Hobart, scheduled to commence from 30-Oct-2020, subject to Tasmanian government decisions.
