New Zealand Government to invest USD27m over five years from IVL

New Zealand's Tourism Minister Kelvin Davis reported (14-Aug-2019) visitors to New Zealand will directly contribute to sustainable tourism through the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) with plans for the government to invest an initial NZD42 million (USD27 million) over five years into 10 projects. Mr Davis stated the government is "making good progress" with aims to "enrich New Zealand through sustainable tourism growth". Mr Davis additionally noted the IVL aims to support "projects that will help ensure tourism continues to benefit communities, visitors, and the environment by investing back into the system".
