Southwest Airlines president Tom Nealon stated the carrier's decision to implement an industry standard GDS is the "third leg of the stool" in its business travel distribution strategy (Business Travel News, 05-Aug-2019). He noted the other two legs of the stool are the carrier's direct channels and its online booking tool SWABIZ. "We're pretty happy with the two [GDS platforms] we have", Mr Nealon said, adding the carrier is "willing to talk" if others are interested.
