Taking the cheaper route on new airport could cost Mexico more in the future

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'Mexico City: no new airport – no real alternative', stated (04-Feb-2019) Mexico's new government outlined an alternative for Mexico City's airport infrastructure that the government believes will serve to ease congestion and expand capacity for Mexico City at a much cheaper price. However, the option chosen will likely help to increase Mexico City's competitiveness as a strategic connecting hub and taking the cheaper option could cost Mexico more in the future with respect to lost economic opportunities.
