18 June, 2020

Thai AirAsia CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya reported the carrier will resume international services once 'travel bubbles' are successfully established (Bangkok Post, 17-Jun-2020). Mr Klongchaiya stated: "Most travel now is for business purposes". He added: "When the leisure market comes back at a faster speed in [Jul-2020], we will offer special airfares to respond to upcoming demand and to compete with other airlines". The carrier is expecting around 11 million passengers in 2020, a reduction from 22.15 million in 2019.
