Australia Federation of Air Pilots announced (03-Jan-2019) around 90% of pilots employed by Tigerair Australia approved embarking on protected industrial action, which will see pilots "not performing any work on rostered days off, annual leave days or days free of duty". Industrial action was originally planned for Dec-2018, but was suspended following Tigerair's successful application to the Fair Work Commission. Tigerair and its pilots will continue attempting to resolve the bargaining impasse at a conciliation conference at the Fair Work Commission on 10-Jan-2019. Tigerair Australia said it does not expect the industrial action to affect passenger travel plans and put in place contingencies to minimise any disruptions (Australia Aviation, 03-Jan-2019).
