United Airlines to launch San Francisco-Brisbane service from Oct-2022

Brisbane Airport announced (08-Jun-2022) United Airlines plans to launch three times weekly San Francisco-Brisbane service from 28-Oct-2022 with Boeing 787-9 equipment. The service was secured with funding from the Queensland Government's AUD200 million (USD144.42 million) Attracting Aviation Investment Fund. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the United Airlines deal would inject AUD73 million (USD52.7 million) into the local economy. United Airlines SVP of international network and alliances Patrick Quayle noted United will be the first US airline to add a new transpacific destination to its network since the start of the pandemic.
