VDR: Insufficient frequencies and capacity the largest obstacle for German business travellers

Germany's Association of German Travel Management (VDR), via its official website, published (Aug-2022) the results of its survey of business travel members for Aug-2022. Members indicated the following as the "most important obstacles to conducting business trips":

  • Insufficient frequency or capacity of transport: 46.5%, +21.9pp from the previous survey in Apr-2022;
  • Lack of planning security: 40.9%, +0.5pp;
  • Complicated entry requirements for international business trips: 39.4%, -29pp;
  • Potential health risks: 29.6%, -44.1pp;
  • There are no obstacles: 19.7%, +14.4pp;
  • Unclear or non-transparent legal provisions at the destination: 14.1%, -29.8pp;
  • Lack of overnight accommodation due to closed hotels/accommodation: 1.4%, -0.4pp;
  • Inadequate hygiene measures by providers in the business travel industry: 0%, -1.8pp;
  • Miscellaneous: 15.5%, +6.7pp.
