Viva Air Colombia inaugurates Santa Marta base: 'Santa Marta will become the new Cusco'

Grupo Viva Air head of ground operations Carlos Mesa, via his personal LinkedIn account, announced (29-Oct-2018) "we are convinced that Santa Marta will become Latin America's new Cusco" with "greater connectivity, development, jobs and tourism growth". He added that Viva Air Colombia is the sole operator on Santa Marta routes to Bucaramanga, San Andres, Pereira and Miami. Mr Mesa also stated the carrier doubled Santa Marta frequency to Bogota and Medellin. Viva Air Colombia inaugurated its third base of operations in Colombia at Santa Marta Simón Bolívar International Airport on 29-Oct-2018.
