28 June, 2019

Wizz Air CEO József Váradi considers the carrier well placed to weather pricing pressure due to an Eastern Europe focus, with the market featuring fast GDP growth and lower costs (Bloomberg, 27-Jun-2019). Mr Váradi added competition in Vienna shows signs of easing and demand and London Luton demand persists despite Brexit concerns. Eastern Europe accounts for 48.7% of the carrier's international departing seats in the week commencing 24-Jun-2019, according to OAG.
