Wizz Air to add sixth aircraft and four new routes at Tirana base from Dec-2021

Wizz Air allocated (11-Aug-2021) a sixth aircraft to its base at Tirana Rinas Airport. The A321 will join the fleet in Dec-2021, enabling the following new and expanded services and adding more than 251,000 seats p/a:

  • New services:
    • Tirana-Billund: Twice weekly from 09-Dec-2021;
    • Tirana-Liverpool: Three times weekly from 10-Dec-2021;
    • Tirana-Oslo Sandefjord: Twice weekly from 11-Dec-2021;
    • Tirana-Madrid: Twice weekly from 12-Dec-2021;
  • Increased frequency:
    • Tirana-Ancona: From twice to three times weekly;
    • Tirana-Berlin: From three to four times weekly;
    • Tirana-Brussels Charleroi: From three to five times weekly;
    • Tirana-Hamburg: From twice to three times weekly;
    • Tirana-London Luton: From 12 to 14 times weekly;
    • Tirana-Memmingen: From three to five times weekly;
    • Tirana-Paris Beauvais: From twice to three times weekly;
    • Tirana-Verona: From three to five times weekly.

With the new routes, Wizz Air will offer 38 routes from Tirana to 15 countries. The airline has handled more than 500,000 passengers in four years of operations in Albania.
