Wizz Air to expand Budapest base with additional aircraft, services and frequencies from Jun-2020

Wizz Air announced (10-Sep-2019) plans to expand its Budapest base with an additional A321 aircraft from Jun-2020. With the arrival of the newest A321neo, Wizz Air's Hungary fleet will expand to 14 aircraft allocated in Budapest, with a further two aircraft based in Debrecen. As previously reported by CAPA, the expansion includes the launch of daily Brussels and twice weekly Kharkiv services from 01-Jun-2020, and twice weekly Lviv service from 03-Jun-2020. Wizz Air also plans to increase the following Budapest frequencies:

  • Edinburgh: From three to five times weekly;
  • Eindhoven: From 14 to 16 times weekly;
  • St Petersburg: From five to seven times weekly;
  • Tel Aviv: From 14 to 17 times weekly.

Wizz Air will increase seat capacity in Hungary to 6.7 million in 2020. [more - original PR]
