Northern Territory‘s Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the Howard Springs quarantine facility will increase its fortnightly capacity from 500 to 850 (ABC, 11-Jan-2021). Mr Gunner said: “There are no extra flights scheduled yet, but they will start scaling up across this month”. Mr Gunner added: “We can safely and responsibly increase our numbers because we are the safest place in Australia, the best quarantine facility in Australia, we are stepping up”.
