Norwegian to focus on European network, core Nordics businesses

Norwegian outlined (14-Jan-2021) a new simplified business structure dedicated to focusing on the company's short haul European route network and core Nordics businesses, operating with a fleet of narrowbody aircraft and suspending all long haul activities. The current plan is to serve these markets with around 50 narrowbody aircraft in operation in 2021 and to increase that number to around 70 narrowbody aircraft in 2022. Norwegian stated that travel restrictions and changing government advice continue to negatively influence demand for long haul travel, with future demand "highly uncertain".
