OAG: Airline capacity picture subdued with 76 million seats on offer

    OAG reported (16-Aug-2021) global airline capacity for sale for the week commencing 16-Aug-2021 increased 0.5% week-to-week, putting global seats available at 76.3 million. Capacity is down 35.3% compared to the same week in 2019, when more than 118 million seats were operated. The most improved regional market was Southeast Asia, where seats recovered 37.5% week-to-week with a strong spike in capacity in Indonesia (+38.7%). Capacity changes in most other regional markets were subdued, with a 7.7% downturn in the Caribbean and a 3.9% recovery in the South Pacific. [more – original PR]
