OWG targets 'niche market' of customers who 'aren't looking to spend time in resorts': president

OWG president Marco Prud'homme said the start up is "targeting a niche market" of passengers who "aren't looking to spend time in resorts" (Montreal Gazette, 07-Jul-2020). He noted this "new generation of customers" wants to "live like locals and stay in private residences", observing: "Obviously right now no one wants to go on vacation and be forced to self-quarantine when they return home, but one day this will change". OWG, which stands for Off We Go, intends to operate to destinations "everyone knows...We won't try to go to some strange place you've never heard of". Mr Prud'homme mentioned the start up will also "listen" to "tour operators who are interested in working with us". Regarding the carrier's name, he stated: "OWG kind of looks like a hashtag you'd see on social media. That fits the clientele we want to reach".
