PANYNJ reaches agreement with JFK Millennium Partners for USD3.9 billion Terminal 6 construction project

    Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) reached (03-Aug-2021) an agreement with JFK Millennium Partners – including JetBlue Airways – to undergo a USD3.9 billion international terminal construction project on the site of Terminal 6 and Terminal 7 at New York John F Kennedy International Airport. The 1.2 million sqft Terminal 6 project was initially scheduled to begin in 2020, and will include a connection to JetBlue’s existing Terminal 5, addition of ten new gates, development of check in halls and arrival spaces and various amenities upgrades. Work is expected to commence in mid-2022, with the first new gates to open in 2025. The project is projected to result in over 4000 direct jobs and generate USD6.3 billion in total economic activity.
