Peru MTC: Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport expansion 20% complete

Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced (22-May-2021) the expansion of Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport is 20.7% complete, as of Apr-2021. The new control tower is expected to be completed in 2022. Paving works for the 3480m runway will begin in Jun-2021. The project will double the airport's operating capacity, equipping it to operate one landing and two take offs per minute. Lima Airport Partners, the airport's concessionaire, intends to award a contract for landside works including the new passenger terminal, parking platforms and access routes in 3Q2021.
