Philadelphia International CEO: Hub has returned to 66% of pre-pandemic operating capacity

14 April, 2021

Philadelphia International Airport CEO Chellie Cameron said the airport is handling around 66% of its pre-pandemic available capacity (Philadelphia Business Journal, 13-Apr-2021). Ms Cameron clarified that this reflects available seats rather than actual passenger numbers and that, despite "booming" domestic demand, the hub still has "a ways to go" before full recovery. American Airlines plans to operate approximately 270 to 285 daily departures from the airport, compared with around 400 per day in the pre-coronavirus period.
