Pittsburgh International operating airlines agree to funding agreement for USD1.4 billion terminal project

    Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis confirmed Pittsburgh International Airport serving airlines have signed a seven year funding agreement for the airport’s ongoing USD1.4 billion terminal modernisation programme (NEXTpittsburgh, 29-Jun-2021). Work involves construction of a 700,000sqft terminal which will incorporate ticketing, security checkpoints and baggage claim, as previously reported by CAPA. The project will also see development of a multi-modal complex with a 3300 space parking facility. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, with the terminal to open in 1Q2025.
