Qantas launches preferred seating trial

Qantas announced (11-Jul-2019) it is trialing a 'preferred' seat product, allowing Silver and Bronze frequent flyers and non frequent flyers the option to purchase seats towards the front of the economy cabin for faster meal service and aircraft disembarking. The cost of preferred seats ranges from AUD5 (USD3.5) to AUD45 (USD31.3) and are available in one economy class row on all Qantas aircraft, except turboprops. Qantas frequent flyers members may purchase the seat selection with points. Gold, Platinum and Platinum One members remain eligible to book the seats without fees. [more - original PR]
