Queensland Airports Limited handles 5.7m fewer pax in 2020

Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) stated (19-Jan-2021) passenger numbers at its airports were heavily impacted by coronavirus travel restrictions in 2020, with 5.7 million fewer passengers than in 2019. Details include:

  • Gold Coast Airport: 188,261 passengers handled in Dec-2020, a 69.2% decrease year-on-year;
  • Townsville Airport: 94,143 passengers handled in Dec-2020, down 32.9%;
  • Mount Isa Airport: 15,277 passengers handled in Dec-2020, down 12.7%;
